Carex is partnering with a biotech industry partner to hire an IT Sourcing Advisor.  This is a 6-month contract role that could lead to an FTE position after the contract is fulfilled.  Candidates should be able to work in-office 3 days/week in Madison, WI.

Summary

The Sourcing Advisor will serve as a critical liaison between Category Managers, internal business teams, and suppliers throughout the sourcing process. This role requires a strong background in sourcing, procurement, category management, or finance, with the ability to manage RFX processes, evaluate suppliers, support negotiations, and drive contracting initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and solutions-oriented professional who ensures business needs are met while optimizing cost, quality, and risk outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with Category Managers and stakeholders to support sourcing projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements.

  • Manage elements of the sourcing process including RFX creation, supplier evaluation, due diligence, and contracting support.

  • Facilitate proposal analysis with cross-functional teams and support negotiation activities to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Partner with Contract Analysts to draft and revise supplier agreements.

  • Document and communicate sourcing initiatives, including savings and required process changes.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives.

  • Support the phased rollout of category management across the organization.

  • Perform supplier and spend analysis using techniques such as TCO, make/buy, ROI, and risk assessment.

  • Provide proactive communication and updates to stakeholders on sourcing initiatives.

  • Contribute to supplier relationship management, including site visits and presentation support.

  • Uphold sourcing standards and educate impacted departments on best practices.

  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, procurement, information technology, finance, or related areas.

  • Demonstrated experience with supplier negotiation and contract management, including knowledge of terms, conditions, and risk mitigation.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to work autonomously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP preferred.

  • Prior experience with sourcing process execution preferred.
