Carex is partnering with a global manufacturing partner to hire a Sr. Mechanical Engineer located in Oshkosh, WI. This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of heavy-duty vehicle components using advanced engineering tools and standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, hands-on CAD experience, and a collaborative mindset to support both new and existing vehicle programs.

This is a five month contract role in Oskosh, WI.

What You’ll Do

  • Design reliable and cost-effective mechanical components for heavy-duty vehicles

  • Conduct engineering analysis, modeling, and re-designs using Creo, PTC, and Windchill

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians to prepare layouts, drawings, and specifications

  • Lead or contribute to multiple projects with varying levels of complexity

  • Evaluate component performance for safety, reliability, and compliance

  • Provide technical support across design, testing, and production teams

  • Analyze and resolve technical issues through clear verbal and written communication

  • Maintain accurate documentation for analysis, proposals, and historical reference

  • Utilize mathematical and analytical methods to optimize system performance

  • Serve as a mentor to junior engineering team members as needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or a related field

  • Strong proficiency with Creo, PTC, Windchill, and Microsoft Office

  • Prior experience in automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment design

  • Ability to perform detailed engineering calculations and analysis

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience supporting both independent and cross-functional engineering efforts
