Carex is partnering with a Madison based insurance services organization to find a highly skilled Senior Strategist of Enterprise Data to lead and evolve enterprise-wide data strategy initiatives. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping data governance, advancing analytics capabilities, and aligning data initiatives with long-term business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, cross-functional leadership, and strategy execution within large, complex organizations.

Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise data strategy that supports business growth, operational efficiency, and innovation.

Partner with executive leadership to align data strategy with corporate goals, ensuring business units leverage data as a strategic asset.

Guide the design and implementation of scalable data governance frameworks, standards, and policies.

Oversee enterprise data architecture and promote alignment between data platforms, infrastructure, and business intelligence.

Lead cross-functional teams in the delivery of data-centric initiatives, ensuring consistent data quality, security, and compliance.

Serve as a thought leader on emerging data technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance data accessibility, usability, and impact.

Foster a data-driven culture across the organization through strategic communication, education, and advocacy.
What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience; master’s degree preferred
• 10+ years of working in financial services or data-related industry
• 8+ years of experience in data strategy, data management, or analytics, preferably within the insurance industry
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI)
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, data management, and regulatory requirements
• Ability to mentor and lead others, including cross-functional teams, without line-management authority
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with business leaders
• Extensive knowledge of data domains and data ecosystem
• Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is highly desirable
• Certifications in data management or analytics (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) are a plus
