Carex is partnering with a manufacturing industry partner to find a highly skilled and experienced Windows Systems Engineer to support a fully in-person role. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with large enterprise experience who are eager to work on diverse projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and take ownership of complex IT infrastructure challenges.
What You’ll Do

Install, maintain, and administer Windows Server environments and Active Directory.

Configure and patch Microsoft server security settings.

Manage provisioning and administration of user access credentials and folder permissions.

Administer core network services including DHCP, DNS, FTP, and others.

Maintain accurate server hardware/software inventories and documentation.

Provide advanced desktop and server support escalation.
-
Perform server performance monitoring and tuning.
-
Participate in a rotational 24/7 on-call support schedule.

Monitor and resolve support tickets and alerts tied to server resource usage.

Work with enterprise backup systems and troubleshoot across multiple tech stacks.

Act with urgency to solve infrastructure issues and improve user experience.

Collaborate with IT and business leadership on functional strategies.

Understand business needs and identify recurring capability patterns.

Recommend new and emerging technologies to align with strategic goals.

Translate technical issues into non-technical terms for business stakeholders.

Develop and uphold IT policies and procedures.

Coordinate technology projects, including planning and regular communication.

Oversee licensing contract cost calculations and compliance.

Demonstrate leadership and accountability in all infrastructure operations.
What You’ll Bring

Expert-level knowledge of Windows engineering in a fully on-prem Microsoft stack.

Proficiency in managing large-scale, highly available clustered Hyper-V environments.

Hands-on experience with multiple physical server vendors (setup and configuration).

Experience with various SAN storage systems (installation, power, patching, etc.).

Minimum of 6 years of server configuration management, administration, and support.

Valued certifications such as Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, or MCITP.

Demonstrated experience managing multi-site enterprise environments with thousands of users and endpoints.
