Carex’s partner is a regional Health Insurance leader based in the Madison, WI area.  They are seeking a Contract and Contract-to-Hire/Direct Hire Data Analyst to join their team and help with a variety of projects coming down the pipeline.  Health insurance background is strongly preferred, and position can be filled remotely, although preference will be given to local candidates. 

What you’ll do:

  • Understand the overall business vision and work with cross-functional business teams to elicit and define business requirements for systems and processes; Understand the business requirements to create workflows, requirements document and/or programming service requests.
  • Recognize when information does not look correct and take initiative to correct. Dig deep to find explanations to test result inconsistencies. Identify and document root causes. Make recommendations based upon findings and follow change management processes as defined by the business unit.
  • Act as a relationship manager, engaging business users, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction
  • Conduct training sessions for business users, empowering end-users to be operationally self-sufficient
  • Work with developers and third-party consultants to ensure successful project execution
  • Serve as a bridge between technical third parties and internal business users to ensure client satisfaction
  • Review work requests and determine impact of product and system changes to existing workflows.
  • Can work in an Agile Development team environment, collaborating with IT and vendor resources to define a solution that supports business processes.

What you’ll bring:

  • Requires strong SQL coding experience and strong knowledge of data warehousing principles including provenance, lineage, modelling, with application of best practices and modern data architecture principles – enforcement of policies and access controls
  • Ability to read and write Source to Target Mapping Documentation, profile data and gauge fitness for purpose.
  • Strong communication skills, collaborative, adaptable to changing priorities and ability to execute on tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of at least two Health Insurance domains with significant work experience within those domains for solutions roles.
    • Preferred Skills:
      • Knowledge of Governmental Reporting processes and timelines (encounters, EDGE Server, etc.)
      • Work with data from at least one payer system (Epic, Facets, etc.)
