This position is full-time, direct hire and based onsite in Menomonee Falls, WI.
What You'll Do:
We're looking for TWO Engineers to join a great team! The Electrical Design Engineer will work closely within the Product Engineering team and focus on the design and implementation of both current product optimization, as well as new product development. This role is open to either mid-career Engineers with 3+ years of experience, or Senior Engineers with 7+ years.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Design
Create and maintain electrical schematics and wire harness drawings.
Assist in the definition of software functions (machine control and HMI).
Acquire and analyze electrical system data.
Research and understand applicable industry and government standards, such as ISO, SAE, etc.
Product Testing
Define testing requirements for new software functions (machine control and HMI).
Use data acquisition equipment to collect performance information.
Create test setups for functional validation.
Evaluate results and determine/coordinate appropriate issue resolutions.
Troubleshoot issues as they arise during prototyping.
Additional
Support the creation of machine documentation including schematics, manuals, training and troubleshooting.
Create and manage software requirements and testing documentation.
Write engineering change notices (ECNs), as well as release new designs.
Provide manufacturing support and work with field technicians and support services to investigate and resolve customer concerns.
What You'll Bring:
BS in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 3+ years of design engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
Design and Development experience within Construction or Industrial Equipment ideal.
Proficiency in electronic circuit design, components, systems and controls.
Knowledge of data acquisition (discrete signals and CAN), as well as communication protocols (CAN, UDS, J1939, etc.).
Some CAD software experience.
Ability to work with a global engineering team, as well as effectively communicate technical ideas across roles.
Highly ideal candidates will have some prior experience within construction or industrial equipment, use of CAD tools (Siemens NX, Zuken E3) and software development tool usage (JIRA, Confluence, Vector CANalyzer). Familiarity with some C programming or Sontheim MDT Authoring Tool is also a plus.
