Carex Consulting Group has an exciting direct hire opportunity with one of our Midwest based partners. To be considered for this role you must live with their territory which includes: Wisconsin, Illinois, or Minnesota. You will enjoy a flexible hybrid work environment.

This position collaborates with engineering and development teams to evaluate, identify and implement optimal cloud solutions that align with the organization’s hybrid cloud strategy. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, security and administration of cloud and on-premise platforms in accordance with industry and organizational best practices. Provides support and training to Business Technology team members and provides mentorship and serves as an informal leader and resource for less experienced team members.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively maintains and upgrades system infrastructure, servers, and other business technology systems and software.
  • Recommends and implements technology solutions, cloud platforms, and service offerings to enhance systems availability.
  • Be available to perform system maintenance during scheduled maintenance windows. Implement approved RFC’s (Request for Change) and collaborate with other BT team members on deployment activities with the objective of reducing downtime, increasing performance, and optimizing business functions.
  • Participate in daily standups to provide status updates and report project roadblocks or issues.
  • Manages projects and initiatives at a high level within the technical operations area of Business Technology.
  • Provide on-call support and alert response in a rotation schedule.
  • Resolve critical system outages.
  • Responsible for responding to and resolving team member issues escalated via the Service Desk incident process.
  • Monitor ServiceNow ticket queues for open and unassigned incidents so that they may be worked to resolution.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 5+ years of direct experience with multi-platform enterprise environments.
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA)
  • Knowledge and experience with deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Technologies (including Office365, Active Directory, SQL Server, SCCM and Windows Server Operating Systems).
  • Expert knowledge of system hardware architectures such as Storage Area Networks, Hyperconverged Infrastructure and Unified Computing environments.
  • Expert knowledge of scripting languages such as Powershell, Ruby, and Python as well as a familiarity with infrastructure orchestration platforms such as Terraform and Puppet.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN Technologies as well as Unified Communications systems.
  • Strong organizational, decision making, and written/verbal communication skills. Presentation skills for one-on-one and/or group presentations.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to translate highly technical information into nontechnical terms.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation of complex systems.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
