What You'll Do:
The Test Engineer will work closely with the Application and Design Engineers to both design and conduct engineering tests during the New Product Development phase for the performance, durability and reliability of Concept, Prototype and Pre-Production machines.
You'll be able to apply your knowledge and skills to develop test procedures that include the design, construction and installation of test fixtures and instrumentation, collection and management of test data, and the creation and maintenance of test reports related to New Product Development and Competitive Machine Analysis.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Concept and Prototype Machine Builds
- Builds include coordinating colleagues from Product Design, Manufacturing and Test & Validation that will participate, as well as gathering parts and assemblies.
- Maintaining discrepancy lists and focus on deviations or variations not anticipated.
- Assisting manufacturing with their concept and prototype machine assembly as needed.
- Machine Testing and Validation
- Consolidate test requirements and create efficient test procedures for repetitive tests.
- Design and develop test fixtures, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation for in-house testing and make recommendations as needed.
- Set up mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical testing devices and apparatus according to engineering specifications.
- Observe and analyze the the operation of components during testing and detect failures.
- Research and prepare reports of test data for evaluation.
- Conduct testing of products, including competitive machines.
- Set-up and conduct machine field endurance testing during product development, as well as long-term post-development testing.
- Test & Data Analysis
- Identify design improvement opportunities.
- Determine the probably cause of malfunctions or failures.
- Make recommendations as to product performance, malfunctions, failures or breakdowns.
What You'll Bring:
- BS in Engineering or applicable STEM degree OR general BS degree with 10+ years of directly applicable mechanical/technical experience.
- At least 1+ year of new product development testing experience.
- Valid drivers license
- Travel of up to 5% is required, both domestic and global (passport is required).

- Data acquisition equipment with an emphasis on temperature, pressure, flow, stress/strain, vibration and noise measurements.
